Clay Gillespie joined Orbis Education in October 2010 as a Marketing Consultant. In that capacity, Gillespie oversees all marketing / advertising, research, public relations, and brand development for Orbis as well as partner schools within the organization. Gillespie also serves as Vice Chairman of the Education Marketing Council, in partnership with The Direct Marketing Association, to identify and advocate marketing practices in post-secondary education that are in the best interest of students and the institutions that serve them. Gillespie brings more than 20 years of strategic marketing expertise, most notably within the digital / interactive and direct response arenas. Prior to joining Orbis Education, he served as SVP of Marketing and Media for Career Education Corporation (CECO) – a $2.1 billion for-profit education company, where he led all marketing and advertising initiatives for 15 brands, spanning 3 online universities and 95 ground campuses. Previously, Gillespie was a partner and EVP of Business Strategy at LSF / Unreal Marketing and EVP of Sales & Marketing at American Reading Company. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions with both agency and client-side businesses, helping guide marketing and strategic direction for brands such as Thompson Education, Speedo, Agilent Technologies, IMS Health, Intel, Chase Bank, Wilmington Trust Bank, CreditReport.com, David’s Bridal, Speedo, Calvin Klein, and Major League Baseball.
